Meet the Writer
J.L. Kauffman helps writers through the WriteNow community. He hosts daily writing streams to help unpublished authors write their first books. These writing streams offer practical tips for the mindset, process, and lifestyle of being a full-time Author.
Kauffman has a lifetime of writing experience, having written his first fantasy book, The Crystals, at age 12. He later went on to pursue a B.A. in Creative Writing at the University of California, Riverside, where he learned how to develop stories, books, and scripts for the stage and screen. He then went to Hollywood, where he became a freelance ghostwriter. It wasn’t until he decided to quit the day job in 2023 and go full-time on the writing business that he founded The Creative Ghost. This writing service company offers writer coaching, story editing, ghostwriting, and reading services.
He is currently writing his next book, a Dark Fantasy novel, The Last Scarecrow: A Dawn of Magic Series (Book 1). He has developed TLS over 600 consecutive writing live streams and plans to self-publish it in early 2026.
